This served as police protocol for ranks as well as command structure. Each rank level will be defined first. 

 

Recruit Deput:  A recruit deputy is a member of the department who has completed the hiring process and has been conditionally hired as a deputy. As a condition of employment they must successfully complete Shiloh county law enforcement academy located in Oxnard. If they pass the academy they are hired on full time at the sheriff's department and promoted to Deputy. For gameplay purposes this is an NPC rank.

Rank Insignia: None

 

 

Deputy (DPTY) :General level. A deputy rank is for a member who has proven themselves capable of performing duties without being under constant supervision from an FTO or supervisor. Police officers are allowed to b FTOs Allowed to take certifications and tests and are encouraged to join specialized units.

Corporal (CPL) : Corporals are considered deputies with a special skill set. (TAC, Patrol Support, CI or anything else deemed a special skill set) Corporals are allowed everything a police officer is allowed. Corporals are not supervisors but in the course of using there skill set in the course of there duties they can command other officers. (IE. TAC cpl tells police officer to cover a door while they make entry, CI cpl tells PO to close a lane of traffic during the course of an investigation). In lieu of a supervisor a CPL can command a scene until a supervisor arrives. Corporals, in addition to standard B and C may be allowed a D class uniform depending on assignment.

Detective (DET): Detectives are deputy whose sole job is to investigate crimes. They generally are not first responders and perform duties in plainclothes or business attire. Detectives are not supervisors but can give orders to a police officer in the course of their duties.

Sergeant (SGT) : Sergeants are the first line of supervisors. A sergeant can command any lower deputy as they see fit. A sergeant may also have command over a special unit (Traffic ect.) or have special duties (Training coordinator, Patrol Supervisor) Sergeants are responsible for making sure department regulations are followed, Keeping order among police officers and patrol/responding to calls

Lieutenant (LT) : Lieutenants are second line of supervisors. A lieutenant can command any lower ranking deputy in their command. An Lt typically is the executive officer over a division (Patrol, Special ops, Detective branch) or the Commanding officer to a Large special unit (SAU) LTs are responsible for making sure department regulations are followed, Keeping order among police officers and patrol/responding to calls.In Lieu of a captain LTs are also responsible for assigning units and ensuring his division runs smoothly. A lieutenant can also perform administrative duties and make policies and procedures

 

Shirt Color: Black for duty uniform, White otherwise

Rank insignia: 1 Gold bar on each collar and epaulets

 

Captain (CPT) - Captains are the 3rd line of supervisors. A captain commands a division or bureau or can be the executive officer to a large bureau. They can command any lower ranking officer. A captain is responsible for ensuring smooth operation of there division. Captains are also responsible for assigning units and ensuring his division runs smoothly. A captain can also perform administrative duties and make policies and procedures. Captains generally do do not patrol but respond to incidents as they see or can be requested under extreme circumstances
